Employment Services

Whether you’re experiencing a short-term mental health crisis or are ready to take the next step in your recovery, Community Alliance’s employment services are here to help you find fulfilling work that fits your skills and needs.

What to Expect

Our employment services team welcomes anyone who has a mental health diagnosis and wants to work — you do not have to be involved in other Community Alliance programs. Come as you are, and we will work with you to create a plan to secure and sustain a job you can feel confident in and proud of.

We can help you discover your interests and skills, develop your resume, discover job opportunities, connect with employers, complete applications, prepare for interviews and more. We work with employers across the metro area and beyond.

Employment support doesn’t have to stop once you get a job. Our employment specialists will help you understand how to meet supervisors’ expectations, balance your mental health needs with job stressors, improve interactions with coworkers and more. Our employment specialists can take calls or meet with you on or off the job site based on your preferences and needs.

Getting Started

To enroll in our employment services, you will first register as a Community Alliance client. Then, we request documentation for a mental health disorder from your medical provider. From there, an employment specialist will explain the program further and complete the intake process with you. Our goal is to help you connect with an employer within 30 days.

To learn more about the program, or to refer someone, call 402-341-5128.

A Resource for Employers

Throughout the last four decades, Community Alliance has developed relationships with many employers in the Omaha area. Our business employer liaison maintains these relationships, develops new connections and provides education about hiring employees who have a mental health diagnosis.

If your business is interested in working with Community Alliance for employment opportunities, please contact Cory Hale at chale@commall.org or by calling 402-341-5128.
