Beyond a job: How our team finds purpose every day

At Community Alliance, our work is more than a job — it’s a calling. Every day, our dedicated team comes together to support individuals on their path to recovery and well-being. Whether you’re looking to start your mental health career, are a PLMHP in search of expert, supervised training and a fulfilling experience, or are a LIMHP or PMHP ready to take the next step in your career, our team is expanding with available positions for behavioral health therapists, day rehabilitation specialists, peer support specialists and more in Omaha.
What makes our organization an especially impactful workplace? We asked Jeff Wibel, MSW, LIMHP, our clinical director of psychiatric and counseling services, and Casey Lopez, supervisor of our Safe Harbor program, to share about their experiences working at Community Alliance.
A culture of care
Community Alliance thrives on teamwork. Our care coordination across a breadth of services in a centralized location helps ensure people can easily access care when and where they need it. “Our cross-team coordination is powerful. It’s helpful to have a team of people to approach challenges, to get ideas and to receive support,” said Jeff.
Casey agreed, emphasizing the importance of collaboration to meet people where they are. “Regardless of their history, our team is committed to helping people thrive beyond their illness. I was one of those individuals, and Community Alliance has empowered me to grow into a position where I can inspire others in their own recovery.”
Jeff and Casey believe the true uniqueness of Community Alliance lies in our commitment to seeing and valuing every individual. “We see, acknowledge and connect with the humanity of the people we serve,” Jeff said. “Our work is deeply meaningful, driven by a shared passion for changing lives.”
“We’re very focused on relationships,” Casey added. “We aren’t the only organization providing these services, but many people we serve come here because they build genuine, caring relationships with our team. Everyone who walks through our doors deeply matters to us.”
A rewarding workplace
Community Alliance’s team members often share that the most rewarding part of their job is seeing their impact firsthand. “It’s so rewarding when the people we serve feel valued and heard,” Jeff said. “Their strength and courage to face difficult challenges in pursuit of healing and growth keeps me going.”
Jeff also values the opportunity to learn from his colleagues, growing alongside them while working toward a common mission. “Working at Community Alliance is an opportunity for mental health professionals to help make the world better, to learn about ourselves and to strengthen our skills in a supportive and caring environment.”
For Casey, the reward is deeply personal. “Helping individuals who are struggling the way I did is an incredible opportunity to give back,” she said. “Our service framework states, ‘We are the difference, inspiring individuals to experience hope and create their best life.’ And that’s exactly what we do every day.”
Change lives at Community Alliance
If you’re looking for a workplace that provides purpose, connection, training and growth alongside comprehensive benefits, Community Alliance is the place for you.
The decision to join our team was life-changing for Casey. “Accepting a job here was the best decision I ever made. Every day, I feel proud to work at Community Alliance and to do the work that I do. Even on the days when things don’t go exactly the way I planned, I’m able to use that as a learning and growth experience. Any mental health professional who has a desire to help others while bettering themselves should apply.”
