Breaking the Silence 2025

Breaking the Silence is Community Alliance's annual educational and awareness event where we seek to end the stigma associated with mental illness.

By speaking openly about mental illness amongst families, friends, businesses, behavioral health professionals, elected officials, and philanthropic leaders in this collective, community-wide effort, we can break down barriers and encourage people to seek the help they need and deserve.

Emmy Award-winning meteorologist Ginger Zee made an incredible impact on both the people we serve and the nearly 600 people in attendance. Sharing how she weathered her own personal storms, one phrase that stood out was "Instead of shame, I feel pride."

She spoke of the pride she feels in the work of recovery and healing she has invested in herself. Recovery is hard work and it wasn't a straight path, but she shared her story of how fulfilling it is to understand her illness and have the right treatment services in place. Ginger also spoke of the importance of having a team, a community of people, who have walked alongside her through her recovery journey. Your support empowers our Community Alliance team to walk alongside those we care for as we provide treatment, rehabilitation and support services for our community.
