Award-Winning Meteorologist and Mental Health Advocate Ginger Zee makes powerful impact at 2025 Breaking the Silence program
Our sincere thanks to the nearly 600 people in attendance at the Holland Center and the more than 70 sponsors and supporters who made the 2025 Breaking the Silence such a resounding success. Emmy Award winner and ABC’s Good Morning America’s chief meteorologist Ginger Zee shared how she has experienced and weathered her own mental health storms.
When asked at the client-only event held earlier in the day how she dealt with the continuing stigma associated with mental illness, she responded by saying, “Instead of shame, I feel pride.” She went on to explain that she feels pride in the work of recovery and healing she has invested in herself. Recovery is hard work and it wasn’t a straight path, she said, but went on to share how fulfilling it is to understand her illness and have the right treatment services in place.
Ginger also spoke to the audience of the importance of having a team, a community of people, who have walked alongside her through her recovery journey and applauded the comprehensive services, teamwork, and community of support surrounding Community Alliance and the Breaking the Silence effort.
Your support empowers our Community Alliance team to walk alongside those we care for as we provide treatment, rehabilitation and support services for our community. Together, with all of you, we continue to make a difference across our community.
