In-Kind and Volunteer Support

There are many more ways you can support Community Alliance and its work.

Contribute In-Kind Gifts

We gladly accept materials that can be used by the individuals and families we serve, including:

  • All Programs (all seasons): Personal care items such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, shaving supplies, toothbrushes, toothpaste, toilet paper.
  • Homeless Services (all seasons): Bottles of water, hand warmers, blankets.
  • Housing Support (all seasons): Twin size bed linens, bed pillows, blankets, pots, pans, dinnerware, cleaning supplies.
  • Warm Hands, Warm Hearts (early winter): New or gently used teen and adult sized hats, gloves, scarves, ear muffs, winter coats.

Volunteer Your Time

Your time and talents allow us to reach more individuals and expand our impact. By volunteering with Community Alliance — whether on a one-time, weekly, or monthly basis — you can make a real difference.  Here are just a few ways you can get involved:

  • Help teach a class in an area of expertise such as computers, cooking, health, exercise, arts and crafts, and more.
  • Consider donating your professional skills. For example, if you are a barber or hairstylist, consider providing haircuts at Community Alliance for those who can’t afford it.
  • Prepare or donate a healthy home-cooked meal. We have groups ranging in size from 10 to 80.
  • Organize a group of volunteers to contribute a day for spring or fall cleanup at one or more of our residential facilities – washing windows, pulling weeds, planting flowers, and raking leaves are all chores that are easier and more fun the more who participate.

Come as you are, bring your desire to give back, and we’ll find a way for you to volunteer at Community Alliance.
