Breaking the Silence

For decades, stigma and misunderstanding have stood as major obstacles in addressing the profound impact of mental illness on individuals and families. These barriers often prevent people from seeking the support they need and deserve. Join us in Breaking the Silence — an urgent call to end stigma and foster greater understanding of mental health.

Breaking the Silence® is Community Alliance’s annual educational and awareness event, uniting families, friends, businesses, behavioral health professionals, elected officials, and philanthropic leaders in a powerful, community-wide movement to speak openly about mental health and substance use issues. Each year, we welcome nationally recognized celebrities — actors, authors, athletes, singers, journalists, and more — who share their personal experiences or advocate for loved ones affected by such challenges. Their stories of courage and resilience inspire hope, promote recovery, and strengthen our collective commitment to mental health awareness and access to care.
