Community Alliance is thrilled to announce Aileen Brady, a longtime leader at Community Alliance who has decades of experience in community mental health services, as our next CEO.

Aileen, our current chief operating officer, was chosen by Community Alliance’s board following a local, regional and national search. She replaces outgoing CEO Carole Boye, who announced her plan to retire earlier this year. Carole has been with Community Alliance for more than 43 years, serving as our first and only CEO.

“In more than four decades with Community Alliance, Aileen Brady has proven to be a thoughtful and innovative leader who has profoundly impacted mental health care in our community,” said George Kleine, chair of the Community Alliance board. “I’m confident Aileen will lead Community Alliance forward with skill, determination and an enduring commitment to the mission, values and vision that have made Community Alliance the standard-bearer of mental health care in our community.”

Aileen joined Community Alliance in 1982. Early in her tenure, she developed and managed Community Alliance’s Day Rehabilitation program — the first of its kind in Omaha that helps people develop the skills and routines necessary to achieve long-term recovery. She has served as chief operating officer since 1991. In this role, she has fostered and advanced an integrated, whole-health approach addressing mental health, physical health and social needs of those served by Community Alliance; led the adoption and implementation of evidenced-based practices; and overseen the organization’s planning, management and delivery of program services, evaluation, staff training and organizational culture.

“Aileen Brady has a deep well of institutional knowledge of Community Alliance’s programs and services, understands the complex nature of providing integrated care that supports the mental, physical and social well-being of our clients and cares passionately about the people we serve as well as our community,” Carole said. “It’s clear to anyone who has worked with Aileen that she is a tireless worker, a visionary leader and a teacher and mentor to staff and clients alike. Under her leadership, Community Alliance is poised to continue making a profound impact on the lives of those we serve.”

“I’m honored to accept the role of Community Alliance’s next CEO,” Aileen said. “The work of guiding our clients toward sustained recovery, purpose and quality of life would not be possible without the dedication of our incredible staff, volunteers, partners and board, who care as deeply about our mission and the people we serve as I do. I’d like to thank Carole Boye for the exemplary leadership she has demonstrated over four decades leading Community Alliance. I’m ready to continue our incredible momentum.”

Aileen will begin the role of CEO on Nov. 1, 2024.
