Student Field Placement Opportunities at Community Alliance

Community Alliance supports people with mental illness in their recovery towards socially inclusive lives with full community participation. We believe people with mental illness can and do recover.

Community Alliance is  committed to utilizing evidence based practices, including:

  • Wellness (Illness) Management and Recovery
  • Supported Employment
  • Assertive Community Treatment
  • Family Psychoeducation
  • Consumer Operated Services
  • Peer-Support
  • Motivational Interviewing

Community Alliance is identified by the Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska (BHECN) as one of two state-wide training sites. We have experience, as a partner with many academic institutions, in the field placement of psychiatry residents, and students of nursing, social work, counseling, and occupational therapy.

As a student in field placement at Community Alliance, you will be challenged to articulate and develop your professional identity. You will learn to translate your knowledge and determination into effective practice. As a member of an interdisciplinary team you will learn how your philosophy and beliefs towards people with mental illness is similar and different to others in the field.
